This mug cake is a perfect treat when you are craving for some dessert and you need something more than just the ice cream in the freezer. There is nothing to be prepped and the whole thing won’t take more than 5 minutes. Literally drop everything into the mug, whisk it up and let the microwave do the job.
Microwave Chocolate Mug Cake
INGREDIENTS:
- All-purpose Flour – ¼ cup
- Granulated White Sugar – 5 tablespoon
- Cocoa Powder – 2 tablespoon
- Egg – 1
- Milk – 3 tablespoon
- Vegetable Oil – 3 tablespoon
- Vanilla Extract – ¼ teaspoon
- Salt – a pinch
DIRECTIONS:
- Whisk all the ingredients in a large mug until smooth. Microwave on high for about 2 – 2½ minutes, until the cake puffs up.
I tried this once. salt was too much and sugar too little. had to throw the whole thing. Thank God I wasted only 5 mins trying to make it 😛

Oh I’m sorry you didn’t like it! 😦
It’s actually denser than a normal cake since made in the microwave. And the salt is to bring out the chocolate flavor! Maybe a scoop of vanilla ice cream would’ve made a difference. 😉
